What Is LVMH Watch Week?
At one time, the Baselworld watch fair seemed to be the place to be if you were a retailer, reporter, or avid watch geek. All the most prestigious watch brands from around the world would gather under one roof and unveil their latest offerings.
Gradually, some brands dwindled off, creating their own annual event, or taking part in other smaller alternatives.
As major brands departed and the pandemic swept over the world, Baselworld collapsed. Watches & Wonders Geneva replaced the annual event and has been gradually evolving ever since. It even doubled in attendance last year.
Today, there are more watch events than ever. These include Geneva Watch Days, the London Watch Fair, Dubai Watch Week, and, of course, LVMH.
Acting as a hub for luxurious culture and avant-garde design, Miami proved the perfect location to host 2024’s LVMH event.
This year marked the event’s fifth showcase. The guest list expanded to include the recently relaunched Gerald Genta brand and Daniel Roth. If you regularly visit The Slender Wrist, you’ll have seen my recent piece on TAG Heuer’s latest releases from LVMH.
The La Chaux-de-Fonds watchmaker unveiled some stunning green Carrera watches at LVMH Watch Week, along with a new Connected smartwatch. Alongside the Dato-inspired Carrera Chronograph and Tourbillon watches were a slew of smaller-sized Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph models too.
These watches, designed for smaller wrists, joined a new TAG Heuer Carrera Date Plasma Diamant d’Avant-Garde watch. It marked the brand’s second colored lab-grown diamond. If you were impressed with these new LVMH watches releases, wait until you see what Italian watchmaker, Bulgari unveiled…
Why Are Bulgari Watches So Popular?
Bulgari, like TAG Heuer, has a very distinctive DNA. Its signature designs include the Octo Finissimo, the Bulgari Bulgari, and the Lucea. So, there are no prizes for guessing what the brand’s 2024 LVMH watch will release this year!
If you’re familiar with Bulgari, you’ll have noted its fine Italian design codes. The brand crafts incredibly slim watch movements and develops elegant case designs to fit them. The manufacturer also uses its fascinating history as a driving force behind its designs.

From a small antique shop in Rome in 1881 it soon grew, opening its own Swiss production facilities in 1980. This is how Bulgari’s Italian masterpieces have come to boast fine Swiss precision. The brand offers expertly engineered tourbillons, GMTs, and chronograph movements to name just a few examples.
Bulgari watches are popular for so many reasons. The Octo Finissimo Tourbillon is an example of exquisite Haute Horlogerie. Its movement, measuring a mere 1.95mm went down in history as one of the world’s flattest movements.
Many of Bulgari’s designs incorporate Gerald Genta concepts. The legendary designer innovated the IWC Ingenieur, the Royal Oak by Audemars Piguet, and the Patek Philippe Nautilus.
These design elements entered Bulgari’s catalog when the brand acquired Gerald Genta in 2000.
Perhaps the clearest examples of these features in the Buglari Buglari design, which we’ll talk about shortly.
Why Are Bulgari Watches So Expensive?
The new Bulgari watch releases unveiled at LVMH Watch Week 2024 aren’t cheap, but neither are the brand’s other timepieces.
This luxury watch manufacturer incorporates quality materials, diamonds, and lavish gemstones into its exquisite creations. At the end of the day, Bulgari watch prices reflect brand provenance, quality materials, and high-end craftsmanship.
Luxury comes at a price and Bulgari prides itself on in-house, authentic design. These are not your average run-of-the-mill watches.
Rare Bulgari watches sell for extortionate prices. The most expensive Bulgari watch in history, for example, was the Serpenti Misteriosi Romani.
It sold for a staggering $2.04 million. But don’t let that put you off. The brand’s core models are much more affordable, including these latest Bulgari watch releases we’re going to show you now.
Bulgari Or Bvlgari?
You can spell Bulgari one of two ways, “Bulgari” or “Bvlgari”, pointing to the brand’s Latin influence.
We know that Bulgari took root in Rome. The brand’s initial name, Voulgaris was changed to Bulgari after the company experienced its first boom of success.
The founder of the company, Sotirio Voulgaris, changed the name of the company to reflect the Italian city it came from
Ever since, Rome became the cornerstone of Bulgari’s innovative designs — its culture and architecture have proved integral to the brand’s identity.

The classic motifs that form the brand’s core collections led to the updating of Bulgari’s logo. The letter in the brand’s logo sees the “V” replaced by the letter “U”. The brand adopts the same concept within its “Bvlgari Bvlgari” and “Lvcea” watch collections, too.
Nevertheless, whether you prefer the original spelling or the updated one, the brand’s penchant for Rome-inspired creations remains.
The New Bulgari Watch Releases 2024
As mentioned, Bulgari watches blend Italian design codes with Swiss precision. These new Bulgari watch releases for 2024 all demonstrate those same values. Let’s check them out in some more detail.
The Bulgari Lucea With Stone Dials
To mark a special year for the brand, Bulgari has revealed an updated version of the Lucea watch design. As part of the company’s audacious horological narrative, malachite and mother-of-pearl are the two materials chosen by Bulgari experts. They do a fine job of reinventing the Lucea watch collection’s concept, based on Rome’s eternal glow.

The Bulgari Lucea watch collection is quite distinctive. The watches pay homage to the ancient Roman sundial and the luminosity of the city at night.
Radiant and glamorous, a pink cabochon stone, topped with a diamond adorns each crown from the series. Its elegant bracelet design takes inspiration from the Maison’s Serpenti collection and, like any woman, takes on a multi-faceted personality.
As a mark of the Lucea collection’s 10th anniversary. Bulgari has decided to launch some steel and two-tone models with stone dials. Revealed at the LVMH Watch Week, they measure 28mm and 33mm sizes, with the larger models containing an automatic movement.
Named after the Italian and Latin names for “Lux” and “Light”, these Lucea watches come in a choice of green malachite or mother-of-pearl.
The rounded V-shaped links and polished elements of the bracelet create a jewelry finish, making them ideal for evening wear. Gem-set versions are also available, where no less than 40 round brilliant-cut diamonds adorn the bezels. Furthermore, they join hour markers on the dial that feature glistening diamonds for an extra dash of glamour.
Bulgari Bulgari in 26mm and 38mm Sizes
The Bulgari Bulgari watch collection is where you’ll find the brand’s range of dress watches. The models from this collection have wide round bezels adorned with an engraving of the company’s logo. The letters of the name represent the classical Latin alphabet.
Aside from diamond-set variations, Bulgari Bulgari timepieces display a mix of line indices and Arabic numerals for their hour track. Before now, women could opt for case sizes of 23mm or 33mm and if you were a guy, you’d get the 41mm size.

This year, Bulgari has released a vintage 26mm size for women and a more modern 38mm men’s size. Current watch trends for 2024 are suggesting a downsizing of case dimensions.
Clearly, Bulgari is tapping into this demographic with the new 38mm sizing, which is cool to see. This new option is perfect for those who often struggle to find dress watches to fit their small wrists.
The very first version of the Bulgari Bulgari watch featured yellow gold. These new 2024 releases, however, are incredibly forward-thinking. We have a recent resurgence of vintage and neo-vintage watch trends to thank for these releases.

The new Bulgari Bulgari watches of 2024 come in four variants. Two models measuring 38mm feature the brand’s “Solotempo” caliber, the brand’s entry-level movement.
They come in a choice of rose gold or yellow gold. The rose gold version features a classic white dial with gilt detailing, while the yellow gold marries with a black display.
Then, there are two smaller versions. The 26mm versions appeal to female wrists and come fitted with quartz movements.
Once again, a white dial and rose gold option affords a particularly vintage look. The yellow gold and black variation is equally as beautiful but more classic.
Bulgari Octo Finissimo Watch in Yellow Gold and Tuscan Copper
Speaking of gold Bulgari watches, the brand has released a new Octo Finissimo in golden tones and steel hues.
The first comes in two variations, a steel model with a Tuscan copper dial in salmon. The second is a gold model with a classic blue dial.
The Octo Finissimo watch is an icon of contemporary watchmaking. Since the birth of the legendary watch, it has become a symbol of sporty luxury.
The octagonal bezel combined Italian aesthetics with a remarkably thin automatic movement. Sleek and sophisticated, it remains the brand’s most popular design.

Although the brand’s entry-level watch, the Octo collection is home to so many variations of the model. The latest releases are pretty expensive, but if you like the sports-luxe look, these chic sporty timepieces are worth it.
Bulgari experts strip the design back to the essentials. The Octo Finissimo is the fattest of flat watches. With a case measuring 6mm thick, it slides under the cuff of a shirt like an absolute dream.

The new Octo Finissimo watches feature a mix of thin line indices and Arabic numerals around their respective salmon and blue dials. Both of the watches feature a sapphire-backed case that exposes the self-winding Calibre BVL 128 engine.
With a 60-hour power reserve, these new Octo Finissimo watches for 2024 are perfect for wearing every day of the week. They also feature a small seconds dial located off-center at the unique position of 7 o’clock.
A Re-Cap
From bright pops of color to unique stone dials and new case sizes, Bulgari’s 2024 releases look promising. The brand has managed to create some attractive adaptations of its most popular designs without losing its identity.
New Lucea watches will add an extra touch of panache to any lady’s luxury watch collection. Presenting the time in stone dials, they impact the wrist with color and iridescent tones.
Now, available in a more compact size, the new Bulgari Bulgari watches are a very practical addition to the line. Paying close attention to recent trends, Bulgari’s smaller size option shows its drive to stay ahead of the game.
Lastly, the Octo Finissimo watch is every sports watch lover’s dream. The steel and gold options certainly take the ultra-thin watch to new heights with a bold play on color. Suffice it to say, the new Bulgari watch releases are worth a look if you’re already a keen collector.
