If you only buy 1 item from the 2024 Nordstrom Anniversary sale, let it be one of these watches.
Summer is here, and that means one thing — Nordstrom’s anniversary sale. The American luxury department, headquartered in Seattle, is the place to go if you’re a guy looking for a wardrobe upgrade. You can find some great deals at Nordstrom throughout the year, but you don’t want to miss this one.
Nordstrom sells everything from designer clothes, coats, and shoes to bags, watches, and jewelry. The company’s biggest sales event is the anniversary sale, which takes place every July. To celebrate this annual milestone, Nordstrom has some absolute steals on its watch sales page.
Some of these timepieces are special offers agreed upon between Nordstrom and the watch brands it stocks. Others are options that guarantee huge savings compared to other competitors on the market.
The sale is due to take place from July 16th through August 4th, but cardmembers can shop as early as July 9th.
If you aren’t a “Nordy” member, you’ll want to take advantage of the perks of being one and sign up.
So, if you’re looking for a new watch and you don’t want to pay full retail price, check out the 2024 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
The 8 Best Watches in the 2024 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
Take a peek at what the company offers for the summer season. This guide lists all the best watch deals going on sale this month. Some of them are absolute must-haves.
Let’s get stuck in!
Timex Midtown Chronograph — Wear It With Some White Sneakers
It’s no secret that watch snobs give Timex a hard time. It’s a no-frills brand but doesn’t claim to be anything else. Timex watches like the Midtown have solid builds, and they’re reliable, and that’s the main thing.
This Timex Chronograph is a sporty classic. Pair it with white sneakers during the summer months to enjoy its casual, elegant look.
Chronograph watches don’t have to be anything fancy. You don’t even need to use the function. This watch looks great either way and looks classic at the same time.
This model, which costs under $120 at Nordstrom, features a sporty dark blue dial. Its 24-hour scale, small seconds function, and 30-minute totalizer are at 2, 6, and 10 o’clock, respectively.
You can enjoy this quartz watch on its matching blue leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching and a steel buckle. A nice Tissot engraving features on the buckle, while the blue band will complement a pair of jeans nicely.
Tissot XL Chronograph – The Sporty Statement Piece
If you like Tissot watches, this offer is hard to resist: an XL Chronograph model for $300.
Its golden accents and stylish all-black exterior are a neat combination. While these tones convey luxury, they’ll also complement smart casual attire.
Take, for example, a white shirt and olive green pants. This combo is relaxed and vibey and perfect for summer.
Suffice it to say that, for its price point, this is a really nice monochrome watch. A hassle-free quartz movement powers the hands around its stealthy black dial, which sits under a sapphire crystal.
This stainless steel watch measures 45mm and has a PVD coating. The black-coated case with matching push pieces accompanies a sapphire crystal top to protect the dial. Meanwhile, the white contrast stitching along the edge of its black leather strap looks incredibly sporty.
Timex Midtown Chronograph — Throw It On With a White Shirt
We’re back to the Midtown design again, and this time, it’s a white dial. This Timex watch is perfect for complementing a simple white shirt when the need arises. It measures a very manageable 40mm diameter, and it features recessed chronograph dials at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock.
If classic chronographs are your weakness, this watch could be part of your collection for a little over $100. It features a clean white dial with crisp, elongated stick markers that are easy to see. The date window nestles itself discreetly between the 4 and 5 o’clock locations.
The Timex Midtown is an everyday companion with an easy-going charm that makes it so versatile. Its 15mm case is chunky, which I like. It gives the watch more character and presence, as do the prominent push pieces at 2 and 4 o’clock.
Tissot XL Chronograph — Pair It With a Polo
You can’t beat a Tissot XL Chronograph. This is an altogether sportier design, however. It presents the time legibly on a bright blue dial with sharp white minute markers and tapering hands.
The dial of this motorsport-inspired design features plenty of luminous material. The Arabic numeral hour markers at the cardinal points of the dial are unmissable under their protective glass front.
The case also features a matte, brushed effect, which I love.
This is a stainless steel 45mm model, so it’s not one of the best watches for small wrists. A very sophisticated brown leather band with white contrast stitching keeps the watch looking smart and sophisticated.
Pair this watch with a polo this summer to enjoy its sporty appeal to the max.
Shinola Runwell Sub Second — A Good Hamilton Alternative
Now, Shinola might not be my favorite watch brand, and you can read up on some of my reasons if you wish. But the brand does deserve credit where credit is due. It does make some pretty stylish watches.
This model is an excellent alternative to the more expensive Hamilton field watch. It features a beige, almost vintage cream dial color with a black Arabic numeral hour track.
At the 6 o’clock location, you can enjoy an orange-accented small second sub-counter.
I love this field watch’s combination of cream, black, and orange tones. The steel case is round and polished and features bar strap lugs that give the watch an old-world charm.
On the back of the case is the Shinola name and the “Made in Detroit” lettering, which does make for quite a controversial topic. Despite that, this stylish quartz looks great on its sand-colored textile strap.
Tissot Seastar 1000 Powermatic — Great for a Quick Dip
Combine this Tissot Seastar 1000 with a nice pair of shades, and you have the perfect beach combo. You can take more than a dip with this Tissot dive watch. It packs in a 300-meter water resistance and features a legible black dial.
The watch is further up the price scale and is on offer at Nordstrom for less than $600. It has 300-meter water resistance and a Powermatic 80 movement. Thanks to its 80-hour power reserve, this is the ideal weekend watch.
You can take it off the wrist on a Friday night and return to it on Monday morning to find it has kept the perfect time for you.
Movado Bold Access — A Formal Companion
If you’re wondering, “Are Movado watches any good?” take a look at this. The brand creates stylish dress watches for affordable prices, like this one.
This is the Movado Bold Access watch, which Nordstrom is selling for a little over $400.
Its minimalist design features a black dial with the brand’s signature dot at 12H in gold. This Movado Bold Access is a great option if you like modern watches.
Thanks to its quartz movement, it’s an easy-to-maintain timepiece. Plus, I love the contemporary smooth brown leather band Movado puts on it.
Overall, the design is neat and straightforward, making for a great option for formal attire.
MVMT Chronograph — It’s Like a Bvlgari
This MVMT Chronograph reminds me a bit of the Bvlgari Octo Finissimo, one of the world’s thinnest automatic watches.
The all-grey dial creates the illusion of the chronograph counters melting into the display. The counters are neat and discreet, benefitting from minimal detail around them.
As far as contemporary watches go, this is a particularly futuristic design. The MVMT watch features a sturdy black-plated steel bracelet, a quartz movement, and a date window at 4 o’clock.
Monochrome watches like this are great for pairing with smart-casual attire. They aren’t too flashy or too discreet. This all-grey watch is selling at Nordstrom for under $150.
You might not immediately notice it, but this chronograph is actually a contemporary take on the pilot’s watch. The model’s stark dial and skeletonized hands are the kind of abstract I like.
If I were looking to buy a new conversation-starter watch this summer, I think the MVMT watch would be it, especially given its current price at Nordstrom.
The Takeaway
The 2024 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is fast approaching. Don’t leave it too late; check out the watches on offer and drop off a bargain.
From modern designer timepieces to classic favorites, Nordstrom certainly has some offers you don’t want to miss.
Spending your money here instead of at any other stockist right now is sure to save you some money this summer. You never know; you may even have some change left over for a quick trim at the barbers.
