Men and women are wired differently, it’s not just their biological difference rather their expression of love also differs. This makes understanding the hints a woman may drop when she feels attracted towards a man harder for most men. This may make you miss out on a great match. The first fundamental difference being women’s desire to be approached first by the man they love. Men on the other hand, may not interpret her love language and the confession is delayed sometimes indefinitely leading to loss of a very compatible match. Men want clarity about a woman’s true feelings about them before they can advance, women love to drop subtle hints without openly admitting their love.

If you’re a man who is confused about his relationship with a special someone, here are some signs to look out for that show she’s into you, before you miss them. Or if you’re a woman who is wondering why isn’t he reciprocating this is what may be wrong with your signals.

Your Signals Are Too Subtle

You may feel he will see that warm suggestive smile, your silly anecdotes or your light teasing and humor as love, but the truth is men thrive on “clarity”. They may mentally brush these hints aside, deeming it your extroverted and open disposition rather than your romantic interest in them.

He Assumes You’re Just Being Friendly

If you are too subtle, he may perceive your empathy and kindness as natural attributes of your personality. Men may misinterpret your romantic overtures as mere politeness. You have to be a little more intentional to bridge that gap between platonic and romantic attraction.

Fear of Rejection Clouds His Judgment

With the rising debates around harassment and abuse allegations globally men are more aware of boundaries. They may hesitate to make the first move, as they fear crossing a line unless they are one hundred percent sure about your intentions. This uncertainty holds men back from confessing when they are in doubt.

Mixed Signals Create Confusion

Hot-and-cold behavior, where one day you are too open and friendly and reticent and reserved the next, can lead to a frustrating stalemate. They may be at a loss to understand how you truly feel about them, ultimately preventing a deep and meaningful connection from forming.

He Lacks Dating Experience

Some men are simply novices in the dating world. They have only just begun dating and may not be aware of how to read your verbal expressions and body language. This may result in a failure to fathom your quiet romantic advances.

You Avoid Direct Communication

Dropping hints but never reaching out with direct admission of your feelings may sometimes backfire. Men may miss out on your signals as they are never backed by any concrete evidence of your interest. It’s essential to be more direct about your feelings when you can sense the feeling of love is mutual.

He Doesn’t Want to Misread the Situation

Many men just err on the side of caution. They don’t want to come across as too desperate or clingy and hence wait for a clear confession from you to take the next step. If you never men fear coming across as inappropriate or overconfident, so they choose caution over assumption.

You Rely Too Much on Body Language

You just want to rely on gestures and nonverbal cues. Instead of clearly opening up about your feelings for him if you are hoping he would respond to your cues then you may end up losing him to a wait that never ends.

He Thinks You’re Out of His League

If you are exceptionally talented at your craft, have great academic credentials, have a perfect career, or are too aesthetically pleasant he may be intimidated by your beauty and wits. Your achievements or looks may make him feel less than you, and if you aren’t clear about your interest he may never approach you first.

He’s Focused on Other Priorities

While you may have dreams of settling down soon on your cards his focus may be elsewhere. His career, personal growth, or other responsibilities he sees as his top priorities. This makes him deliberately less attentive to romance in his life.

You Tease Without Clarity

Playful teasing is a decent way to bond but not everyone can interpret that as your attraction for them. A little crossing the line in humor and they find it insulting or sarcastic.

He’s Been Rejected Before

Past experiences and traumas of rejection are hard to get over. Your cues may be making sense to him but he may be cautious before trusting you with his heart. Once bitten twice shy, he simply doesn’t want to break his heart again by trusting someone blindly.

Your Communication Style Is Indirect

Subtle hints may not land well with someone who is used to clear straightforward communication. No matter how loving your intent may be, unless you’re direct in your approach they may never see what your heart carries.

He Thinks You’re Not Interested in Dating

If you constantly take pride in being a strong independent woman who relies on none, it may drive away really good men. This emphasis on love for your autonomy may make him believe you’re not in for a relationship.

He Simply Doesn’t Notice

Sometimes, there isn’t a deeper reason, just his little observation of details that make him overlook very clear signs right in front of him. Not all men are too emotionally aware and observant of emotional signs.

Final Thoughts

Attraction is less about feeling and more about being understood for your intentions. Many very compatible potential partners fail to connect because the way one conveyed their interest was too subtle and unclear for the other. They fail to interpret the signs and this miscommunication becomes the biggest hurdle in a formal relationship from forming. If you don’t want to lose the man of your dreams then clarity and openness are your biggest friends in this journey and luck will be on your side.
