Dating can be confusing, especially with so many cases of harassment and people becoming overly protective about their boundaries. As a man, it’s extremely difficult to know how and when to make the first move. This article aims to solve that confusion, by highlighting some signs that show she’s attracted to you but is waiting for you to make the first move.

She Keeps Finding Reasons To Be Near You

If she repeatedly attempts to sit closer, stand closer, or find ways to be in your proximity, don’t dismiss that observation. She wants you to notice and reciprocate whenever you are ready. She feels comfortable around you.

She Keeps Catching Your Eye

You may often find her stealing a glance and looking away when she sees you. She maintains eye contact with you when a discussion is going on and there are others around. When it happens repeatedly and your eyes meet several times throughout the same evening, it can be more meaningful than simple eye contact. If she smiles back too, that can make the interaction more meaningful.

She Smiles Differently When You Walk Up

When you approach her, she becomes noticeably warmer compared to her general interactions. If your presence sets a smile on her face, she maintains eye contact, and seems genuinely happy to be there, it shows you matter to her. But pay attention to the pattern, if it’s recurring or is a one-off. Not every warm smile indicates attraction.

She Keeps The Conversation Going When It Could Easily End

A woman who is interested may try to prolong the conversation. She brings up new topics, tries to tease you, or even finds some other reason to keep the interaction from ending. This indicates she thoroughly enjoys your company.

She Starts Giving You Easy Openings

Sometimes the biggest clue is she makes approaching her easier for you by deliberately creating opportunities. She casually mentions her likes and dislikes, the event in town she’s looking forward to attending or a movie running in theatres that she wishes to watch. This is her way of inviting you to ask her out without having to ask you herself directly.

She Remembers Small Things You Told Her

You see how she consistently remembers small or big details about you from your past conversations. Like your first pet’s name, or your favorite ice-cream flavor and things others would easily overlook. It shows her genuine curiosity to get to know you.

Her Body Language Becomes More Open Around You

Open body language, like facing you while talking, maintaining eye contact, smiling more than usual, is suggestive of comfort and engagement. When this pattern occurs with other subtle signs of attraction, she may be hoping you approach her first.

She Playfully Teases You Or Creates Inside Jokes

Light teasing is a way to develop a deeper bond and understanding. Shared humor is a great way to bond. The key distinction is to see if she frequently does this and maintains an element of warmth and respect, which makes the playfulness feel comfortable.

She Finds Small Reasons To Touch You

A gentle touch on your hand, holding onto your arm when she feels scared, or leaning in to listen to you, can signal attraction. Not one affectionate touch is definitive proof, but if it’s part of a broader pattern of interest, then you must not miss the cue.

She Seems Especially Interested In Your Dating Life

Most of her questions are about discovering whether you are seeing someone, what your type is, or her curiosity about your relationship status. She may be checking if you are already taken. If she seems particularly interested in your answer, then she wants to see if you’re available.

She Becomes More Engaged When You Give Her Attention

When you offer her your attention, she becomes more talkative, starts to smile more, or even asks questions to keep the conversation going. A positive response to your interest is her way to invite you towards a closer connection.

She Gives You Compliments That Feel More Personal

She doesn’t compliment you for surface-level traits, she rather compliments you on your sense of humor, your confidence, or your amazing problem-solving skills. Such praise shows she’s paying you more attention than anyone else, which could be her invitation to continue the interaction.

She Creates A Clear Opportunity For You To Make A Move

This may be the strongest and clearest of all the signs. She lets you in on her schedule and her plans. She tells you how she’s free on the weekend, subtly sending the message she is open to being asked out. When things have come to this point, you must stop over-analyzing every gesture. If you too feel the same way for her, you need to reciprocate asap.

Final Thoughts

There is no secret formula to decode the subtle cues a woman who is attracted to you may drop for you to pick up on. While comfortable eye contact, smiling, proximity, teasing, personal questions, and other signals can reveal interest and attraction, unless they are happening all at once, one of these in isolation should not be interpreted as love. Approach respectfully with a normal conversation, to see if the interest is actually two-sided, sometimes the clearest answer is to see how she responds when you take the opportunity.
